I am so excited to share this new cake. It is a purple ombre cake. During Valentine’s, I started making a few ombre cakes. I made a pink one and a red one for the Valentine’s theme. Now, since it is spring and we are getting ready for Easter, I decided to go with a lighter color cake. I love purple, so I made a purple ombre cake. I truly love the final look of this cake!
I may try to make a few more ombre cakes. I am now thinking of a lemon or yellow ombre cake. It will be fun! I can’t wait to share!
I have been baking a few more Easter/Spring cakes in the mini oven. Spring reminds me of light and fluffy textures. I love lemons, so I decided to make a lemon & strawberry layered cake with lemon frosting.
I mentioned a couple of days ago that I had just finished cooking some Easter Egg Braided Breads/Cakes. I had to wait for them to finish drying after coating. I finally took pictures tonight of the Easter breads.
I textured the breads, then added some coloring. I then added a few Easter eggs on each bread/cake. Then finally, I added a little drizzle of icing to each cake. These were a little messy, but fun to make.
The first picture is the long plain braided breads with Easter eggs. The other two pictures are a couple of different Braided Ring Breads with Easter Eggs. I made several different sizes of both. Some are 1:6 Playscale and the others are 1:12 One Inch Scale. Some of the rings are a little big/wide/fat/thick and others are a little smaller/thinner.
I cannot decide which ones that I like the best. Do you like the rings or just the plain breads? I guess it really depends on the Easter scene.
I didn’t get a chance to post last night, sorry for the delay.
Ok, today I wanted to show one of the layered Easter cakes. This one has a lemon icing with 3 different layers. I just put a few Easter eggs on top for decoration. I really didn’t want to add too much decoration to take away from the layers.
I have been having so much fun making the layered cakes. These are truly a joy!
Tonight I finished cooking some Easter Braided Breads. I previously made ring Easter braided breads. This time I made just plain braided breads. I cooked them today and they are drying after a final coating. I will take pictures tomorrow to show.
Yesterday I posted 1:12 scale baskets. Today I am posting 1:6 Playscale baskets. The Playscale baskets were purchased. I added the grass, eggs, bunnies, lollipops and candy packages. They were also wrapped with ribbon added too. All of the bunnies in the baskets were made as chocolate bunnies.
Easter is getting close. I have been busy in the mini kitchen. I am posting a pic of some Easter Baskets. I made some chocolate bunnies and some blue, pink & purple bunnies. The baskets are all handmade with eggs & bunnies & lollipops. They are wrapped with ribbons attached, just like mini versions of the kind you buy full size in the store. All of the baskets pictured are made in 1:12 Scale.
I have been working in the Mini Kitchen getting ready for Easter. I have been making 1:6 Playscale and 1:12 Scale Cakes. The picture today is only the playscale cakes. I will take a picture tomorrow and show the 12th scale cakes. I am still trying to make cute little bunnies. So far, they look like angry little bunnies. So I will keep trying. Going back to work.
I have been working in the mini kitchen getting ready for Easter. I wanted to make a little decoration to go with some cute little bunnies. I tried making gingerbread houses for the bunnies, but they looked a little “Christmas”. So, I decided to make a smaller house, still decorated with icing and extras. I wanted to add some carrots for the bunnies. So, I added a carrot patch. I also added little eggs for the bunnies to have an egg hunt. And last, but not least, I added some signs for the egg hunt and carrot patch. Some of the houses have ribbon candy added for a slide and some lollipops.
I had so much fun making these little treasures. Hope you enjoy!
